Reviews In Brief
Few of these might have broken into my
top 20 if I got to them earlier. Happens every year. All of these are
worth a listen and probably worth plunking a few bucks down.
Martha- Blisters In the Pit Of My Heart
(honest punky blimey fun)
Fake Limbs- Matronly
(abrasive, but in an interesting nice way)
Pinegrove- Cardinal
(personal alt country/rock - you pick)
The Dean Ween Group- The Deaner Album
(expected inventive quirkiness from a Ween)
bed.- klickitat
(ethereal heartfelt milennials sing about stuff)
Bob Mould- Patch the Sky
(the Bob Renaissance continues with another rocker)
Kid Congo & the Pink Monkey Birds- La Arana Es La Vida
(sounds a lot like their name- a hoot)
The Parrots- Los Ninos Sin Miedo
(lo-fi spanish boys need their drugs and party)
Ian Hunter- Fingers Crossed
(at 76 still the coolest guy in the room)
Loretta Lynn- Full Circle
(at 80 proves why she's a legend)
